Scott Fisher

Full given name: Scott James Fisher. James was my grandfather’s name. Scott apparently was trendy at the time.

Where you were born: Lewisburg,PA

Zodiac Sign: Aquarius. According to friends who know, I act just like one.

First Broadway show you ever saw? Dracula (starring Frank Langella). It was the sets by Edward Gorey that really fascinated me. And the tickets were only $15! Seriously. It was 1975.

When did you first get involved in theatre? In high school and then again in community theater in Michigan where I worked for awhile.

When did you first become involved with SRO? I auditioned, but didn’t get a part. So, I told them that I played the clarinet. That always works. So, my first show was Into the Woods as a member of the orchestra circa 1991.

If you had to pick a favorite what show would you say was your favorite SRO show? Forever Plaid. World Goes Round. Smokey Joe’s Café. Assassins. If I had to pick just four. Do you like directing or performing more? It depends. I really do enjoy performing, but I have found that directing has its own special rewards.

If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? A Chorus Line.

Some favorite modern musicals: Spring Awakening, In the Heights, Next to Normal

Some favorite classic musicals: Camelot, Cabaret, A Chorus Line

Favorite showtune(s) of all time: I Have Dreamed (from The King and I)

Something you're REALLY bad at: Saying no.

Most visited websites: Facebook (of course), Slate, and Tom & Lorenzo (and I suppose I should SROProductionsOnline, too!)

Last book you read: The Fault in Our Stars

Must see TV shows: Anything on the Food Network (I like to watch people make good food, since I so often stoop to eating Taco Bell when I’m rehearsing for a show – which seems to be always.

Last good movie you saw? Ummm…in a theater? I guess that would be UP. Don’t go to the movies much.

Some films you consider classics: Singing in the Rain, Rocky, Grease II

Do you have Pre-show rituals or warm-ups? Lots of tea and pacing.

Pop culture guilty pleasure: The Real Housewives of….well, anywhere. I love ‘em all.

What song is the most played on your iPod? I don’t have an iPod. Wait, I do, but I don’t think I have any songs on it. I’m listening to Rihanna in my car a lot right now though.

Three things you can't live without: Chocolate, my phone and my sense of humor.

What are some of your dream roles? Fagen (Oliver) The Baker (Into the Woods) and Mame (I think I’d be great, but no one agrees with me on that one.)

What are some shows you'd love to see SRO to do? Something no else has done: Sweeney Todd or Next To Normal or Batboy. A little dark, a little dramatic and with a twist of humor.
